Some New Pictures

We are down to detail work on the house. Here are a few of the latest pictures. We will be taking more pictures to show what we've done and posting those.

Cabinets and Ceiling Painting

Dan and I have spent the last few rainy days at the house working. I'm painting still...this time, the borders around the ceilings. Dan has been installing the kitchen cabinets. He's amazing!

Hawks Fan + Tiles + Yard? What yard?

We got a good, close-up look at the neighborhood hawk, a Cooper's Hawk. He was sitting on a tree just outside.

In the meantime, work has continued on tiling, electric, and various fun stuff. Dan dug up the yard to lay line for plumbing and electrical. Ilana has been painting. Neither of them particularly enjoys either job, but somebody's gotta do 'em!

Getting Close

Dan spent a lot of time working on the stairs. We also got drywall delivered and insulation installed. I took some last pictures of the house sans drywall.

Oh yeah, and the last picture is of the set up that Dan--he of the electrical engineering degree--has for his office area =D

Windows

Windows are next. These are the windows waiting in the garage. Dan installed several over the weekend, so we will update the site once he has taken some pictures.

Along with that, I installed a new addition to our alarm system, a motion detector in the garage (so keep your grubby paws off our windows! =D)

Fireplaces

We had two fireplaces installed, a wood-burning one in the family room and a gas one directly above it in the master suite. The one in the master suite will be remote-controlled! How cool is that?

Speaking of cool, the temperature dropped way down the last couple of days. Poor Dan has been working at the house, surrounded by his electricians and HVAC dudes. Brrr...

Roof!

Sigh...yes, I'm a bad, bad blogger. What can ya do?

We have a new roof with architectural tiles. We went with a slate grey, as the black seemed like it would make the house too dark. We will lighten the shutters in the future sometime.

Brick, Laying out the Kitchen, Jacuzzi!

Lots going on as always. Dan finished up the addition. The brick folk put brick up, while I laid out the kitchen. Dan installed the jacuzzi, among his myriad other tasks.

More Picture Updates!

We now have the foundation for the addition! Of course, Dan and I had to have a ceremony in which we buried a shark's tooth for luck...you know us. Dan has been doing a lot of reframing, while I am going to be running even more wires.
